What do you have to offer voters?
I bring dedication, experience, maturity, knowledge, seniority and balanced perspective to this important and all- encompassing job. Equally important, I bring positive relationships with other legislators, staff and state agencies. Such networking and friendships allow me to work very effectively in St. Paul.
How do you balance industrial growth with environmental concerns?
By letting science dictate major decision making, opinions must surrender to facts. Established laws, rules and an orderly environmental review process as well as demanding financial assurances, helps better facilitate this modern, 21st century way of doing business.
What is the biggest issue affecting your district?
Jobs, education and economic growth. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused major disruption to our region and threatens the vitality of our local economy. We need to stop or slow the spread of the virus, so our economy can rapidly recover and once again, thrive.
What's your primary goal if elected and how would you accomplish it?
As a retired teacher, it pains me to see our students from early childhood learning through the four colleges, elementary, middle and high schools in our area unable to receive the comprehensive full quality education they received pre-COVID-19. We must immediately return the students to in-person classes as soon as it is safe and a viable vaccine is ready.
