Duluth Comfort Systems will continue abiding by the Cold Weather Rule until further notice and will not disconnect services for residents who are behind on payments.
The city of Duluth made the decision to extend the rule due to the economic impact of COVID-19, according to a news release from the city. Shutoff notices had been sent before the city made the decision not to do so.
"Bills will continue to be sent to residents, and it is the responsibility of residents to pay those bills," the news release stated.
Comfort Systems is a division of the city's Public Works and Utilities Department that provides water, sewage and natural gas services.
