Duluth to offer canoeists, kayakers waterfront racks
The city of Duluth will launch a program Thursday that allows people to rent a waterfront rack to store their canoe or kayak for the boating season. Racks have been installed on Park Point, at Chambers Grove Park and at Brighton Beach with help from the Iron Workers Union Local 512 Apprentice Program.
Duluth residents can rent a rack for $100, and non-residents can rent one for $175.
Watercraft can be stored on site for the season but must be removed by Oct. 15. Owners will be responsible for securing and locking their canoes or kayaks when not in use. They will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information visit www.duluthmn.gov or call 730-4305.
