Bird watchers at Hawk Ridge say the number of northern goshawks migrating over the ridge should be peaking over the next few weeks.

Sharp-shinned hawks, bald eagles and red-tailed hawks also are moving through in good numbers.

With winds predicted out of the southwest on Saturday, the best times to visit this weekend should be Saturday afternoon and Sunday late morning. If it rains during the weekend, look for concentrations of birds to take wing between the showers.

Hawk Ridge is one mile east of Glenwood Street on Skyline Parkway. Visit hawkridge.org or call (218) 428-6209 for more information.
