Gobble on down to the community Thanksgiving buffet

The 25th annual Twin Ports Region Thanksgiving Buffet will be served 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC). A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be provided free of charge.

The 25th annual Twin Ports Region Thanksgiving Buffet will be served 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC). A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be provided free of charge.

Homebound persons in Duluth who would like to request a home delivery meal may call (218) 723-6484. All delivery requests should be received by Friday, Nov. 21.

Musical entertainment and a children's craft corner will be part of the day's events. Santa will also visit and free photos will be provided.

Volunteers are encouraged to sign up online at www.css.edu/thanksgiving or call the volunteer phone line at (218) 723-6774.

Monetary donations are welcome. Please send them to The College of St. Scholastica, Attention: Thanksgiving Buffet, 1200 Kenwood Ave., Duluth MN 55811.

Bus service to the dinner and back will be free, thanks to the Duluth Transit Authority and a donation from the National Bank of Commerce. Diners will be shuttled from the Holiday Center to the DECC. Continuous bus transportation will be available throughout the day, following the DTA Sunday bus schedule. Call 722-SAVE (722-7283) for times or check the bus schedules at the pick-up sites at the CHUM Center or Damiano Center.

The buffet serves 2,400 pounds of roasted turkey, 2,200 pounds of potatoes, 6,500 dinner rolls, 500 pounds of carrots and onions and 150 gallons of gravy.
