On Tuesday, CHUM will close its Gloria Dei warming center, which was open every night during the month of March regardless of temperature.
Over the course of the winter, the warming center was open 56 nights with 2,508 sign-ins, according to a news release from CHUM. Those who have been using the warming center have been informed and are making alternative plans.
After the last night, people will be able to take their sleeping pad with them.
A survey conducted on Friday revealed that 16 guests needed sleeping bags and 14 needed tents.
Anyone wishing to donate tents, sleeping pads or ponchos can call CHUM at 218-720-6521 to arrange a curbside transfer.
