No. 10-ranked Virginia faces No. 3 Staples-Motley at 10 a.m. today in the Minnesota Class A high school quarterfinals at the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center in Minneapolis. Virginia (17-2) has lost to Hibbing-Chisholm and Maple Grove (Minn.) this season.

Rochester Lourdes in Class A and Edina in Class AA are each seeking an 11th straight state team title.

The individual singles and doubles tournaments are Friday and Saturday.

Representing Northeastern Minnesota are Virginia senior Natalie Prittinen and sophomore Casey Mauston in

Class A doubles, senior Emily Erickson and sophomore Sara Stejskal in Class AA doubles and Hibbing-Chisholm sophomore Hillary Bungarden in Class AA singles.

Hibbing-Chisholm senior Katie Bolf, the Section 7AA singles champion, has withdrawn from the Class AA tournament for a violation of the Hibbing High School code book, said Hibbing-Chisholm coach Gary Conda.
