A 13-year-old girl was airlifted to a Duluth hospital Tuesday after being struck by a mid-sized SUV in Hibbing.

The girl was one of three people who were running across U.S. Highway 169 at Ninth Avenue West in Hibbing when two of them were struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox crossover SUV, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The accident happened about 5:43 p.m., according to the State Patrol.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Barbara Skoff, 73, of Hibbing, was not injured.

The names of the injured girl and the other pedestrians were not released Tuesday night.
