Special events play an important role in the downtown Duluth environment. It's a chance for our businesses to be showcased and for residents and visitors to experience the true community spirit in our central business district.
Nothing says community spirit better than our annual Sidewalk Days Festival.
Downtown Duluth businesses are gearing up for our biggest summer celebration, which is scheduled for July 11, 12 and 13.
Hit the bricked streets and enjoy some shopping at our unique stores and take in tasty treats from our restaurants and food vendors. This is an event that offers something for everyone.
Imagine walking down the street and looking up to a 12-foot-tall stilt-walker. Heck, at that height, downtown workers will see them from their second-floor offices. We'll have two of these fine performers who are new to the event this year. Plus we'll have kids' rides, clowns, artists, musicians, dancers, theatrical performers and more. This is all on top of the great food, fun and shopping.

It's not just limited to the boundaries of Superior Street between Fourth Avenue West and Lake Avenue, where we have the street closed off. There are businesses participating throughout the downtown, from Fitger's Brewery Complex to First Street.
While many people take to the streets during the day, there is also the Classic Car Show and Harley Revue from 5 to 8 p.m. July 11. This is surely an attraction as hundreds of classic cars and Harley-Davidson motorcycles span seven blocks along Superior Street.
Plus, live music fills the air as bands perform on each block and retailers stay open to offer a fun shopping
experience.
For our festival's second night, take in the sounds of the Pot Bellied Stallions as they perform during our Rock the Block summer concert series in the 200 block of West Superior Street.
Finally, the excitement wraps up with three street dances this year.
On Friday night, July 13, make First Street your destination as Ace's on 1st and Hero's will both host street dances.
The encore comes on Saturday night, July 14, as Carmody's Irish Pub joins our festival by hosting a street dance on Superior Street.
