Our new threat will be snowfall picking up in intensity by this afternoon. The heaviest snow will occur late today through tonight. The system quickly departs by Saturday morning.  Some parts of the Northland are under winter weather advisory while some of our southern counties are under a Winter Storm Watch. Once lake effect snow takes over Saturday night, some higher amounts of 10-plus inches are possible east of Ashland through the U.P. of Michigan. More cold air spills in Saturday night into Sunday.
