When I go into schools and teach weather lessons, the first thing I teach is what "high" and "low" pressure are. Why? These usually decide what kind of weather we will have. In short, high pressure tends to make most people happy - clear skies and sunshine. Low pressure brings lousy weather - gloomy skies and rain. Well, I hope you're feeling like being happy this weekend because high pressure is on the menu. We'll see plenty of sun with temperatures in the 70s near the lake to upper 70s and low 80s away from the lake. There is a chance of seeing some showers and storms late Sunday into Monday.
