Happy Friday! Expect partly cloudy skies and highs reaching 82.
Saturday starts out at 59, getting up to 78. There's a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. This is from another low pressure system to our north and a wave in the jet stream called a short wave. These two combined will create the uplift needed to spur rain.
On Sunday, Father's Day, we get a break as we are in between short waves. Lows Sunday morning will be at 54, with highs back up to 78. There's a 30 percent chance of thunder because of the humidity in the atmosphere and heat, so pop-up pulse storms will be possible.
Our next short wave gets here Monday, giving us a 60 percent chance of showers and storms.
Make it a great weekend, and good luck, runners!
