A small trough in the jet stream will move over the region today, increasing cloud coverage from partly to mostly cloudy. But with high pressure at the Earth's surface, dry conditions will continue. Expect a light southwest wind at 3-6 mph that will warm us up to 71.
Saturday will bring clearer skies, with lows near 46 and highs around 62. The high pressure system moves northeast and a large ridge in the jet stream pushes over the region, keeping us dry. But the high will give us a light east wind that will knock down temperatures by the lake. Away from the lake, expect mid to upper 60s.
Sunday is similar in that we'll have light easterly winds. Lows will be near 44 and highs near 64.
On Monday, we will have a few more clouds and a 30 percent chance of showers as a weak cold front passes through the region. Lows will be around 46 and highs in the low 60s. Expect mostly cloudy skies.
The jet stream will push southward, with few troughs or ridges, making it what we call "zonal." But it will bring small waves, giving us a chance of rain throughout the workweek with highs in the low 60s and lows in the 40s. It will start to dip further on Thursday and beyond, cooling us off a good bit.
