Today will be a bit on the soggy side, especially through the first part of the day. Don't forget that umbrella or raincoat before you step out the door, you'll be happy your brought it. A disturbance sliding through the Northland last night kicked up some thundershower activity, which will continue to work through the area today. Before the rain is all said and done, some folks around the Northland could pick up as much as 1 to 2 inches of heavy rain. Keep in mind the heaviest of the rain looks to fall in a narrow band, perhaps only across the northern portions of Minnesota. I think some of these storms could begin to train or develop over the same areas, which may cause some minor flooding issues if the rain comes down at a heavy rate. The rain will eventually let up later today and things should clear out by tomorrow. Sunshine and warmer temperatures will follow, but the rain shower activity will return just in time for the weekend. Unfortunately, the NorthShore Inline Marathon is this weekend, so it could be a little messy during the race. The good news is the rain may hold off until later into the afternoon, I'll keep watching...
