This year's Fourth Fest will be a family-oriented festival, with the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra and the Duluth Festival Opera taking the stage at 8:15 p.m. on July 4.

The show will be a full two hours of patriotic music, said Craig Samborski, Bayfront Park director. It will include songs from "West Side Story" and "The Music Man."

Gates open at noon with music, food and crafts.

Preceding the symphony on stage will be local acts North Shore Big Band, Rock-A-Billy Revue and the Happy Hour Band.

For those who still don't see a reason to come, there will also be a car audio sound-off competition.

The night will also include a salute to America with a fly-by from the 148th Fighter Wing, and a fireworks show at 10:10 p.m. over the Duluth harbor.
