Four people were killed and another seriously injured following a vehicle crash at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Pine County near the City of Askov.
The Pine County Sheriff's Department said that a pickup truck with five people inside was going westbound on Rutabaga Road when it was apparently trying to make a left turn in front of an oncoming semi-truck that was going Eastbound on Rutabaga Road.
Three people inside the truck died at the scene - a 17-year-old woman, 21-year-old man, and a 58-year-old man. Two other people in the truck, a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, were found seriously injured and airlifted to area hospitals. The 20-year-old woman later died at the hospital.
The 50-year-old driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The accident is being investigated by the Pine County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.
