Four Twin Cities-area residents have been arrested in connection with what Superior police called a "substantial burglary" of a Superior residence.
In a news release, Superior police said the four were part of a "sophisticated group" of burglars. Superior police investigated the Sept. 21 burglary, along with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and at least four Minnesota law enforcement agencies, including the Minneapolis Police Department and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
Three suspects -- a 61-year-old man, a 42-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman -- were arrested in Ramsey County, Minn., police said. The fourth, a 45-year-old man, was arrested in Pine County. The News Tribune does not typically print the names of suspects until formal charges are filed.
Extradition is being sought on all four suspects to bring them to Douglas County for formal charging, the news release said.
Superior police said it was believed that the majority of items stolen in the Superior burglary had been recovered and eventually would be returned to the owner.
