Bruce Hagen wants his old job back.
The former mayor of Superior plans to announce his candidacy for the seat at 1 p.m. Sunday at Fairlawn Mansion.
Hagen served for three terms as mayor of Superior from 1975 to 1987, and worked in state positions with the governor's staff and Department of Workforce Development.
He also has worked as a consultant and as co-owner of Hagen-Anchor Lighting LLC.
"Since moving back home one year ago, I have been delighted to see many longtime friends and acquaintances that have also 'come home,' " Hagen said. "Those of us who have a longstanding history as residents of Superior know and appreciate the qualities that surround us here and throughout the Northland."

Hagen's campaign will be based on retaining existing jobs, encouraging job growth and attracting new economic development to the area, according to information provided to media.
He places a high value on communication and community discussion as a way to direct positive growth in Superior and hopes to protect and assist the Murphy Oil USA refinery and its successor grow as an even stronger member of the community.
Other "to-dos" on his list include providing additional senior housing, establishing a comprehensive residential street replacement program and conducting an open, public review of the stormwater runoff and sewer utility fees.
No other candidate has declared for the position, currently held by Mayor Dave Ross, which goes up for public vote in April.
