A group of former Duluth School Board members will formally declare their opposition to elements of the Duluth school district's long-range facilities plan today at a news conference.
The 10:30 a.m. news conference will be in the lobby of the Hawthorne Suites, 325 Lake Ave. S.
Ruth Crassweller, a School Board member for nine years in the 1960s, plans to attend.
"I object in the first place [to the red plan] because we were never given a chance to vote on whether or not we wanted it," Crassweller said. She also said this is the wrong time for such a costly plan.
"There is a time for everything and I don't think this is the time for a big bond issue like this, with the economic situation going on all over the world," Crassweller said.
