The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for parts of the Northland as storms today are dropping heavy rain in some areas.
The advisory, for minor flooding of poor-drainage areas, covers Aitkin, southeastern Itasca, east-central Cass and northeastern Crow Wing counties until 6:15 p.m.
Radar and spotter reports indicate 1 to 3 inches of rain has fallen in the advisory area in the past two hours. Aitkin reported 1.41 inches of rain in an hour, between 1:35 and 2:35 p.m.
