The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for several Northland counties until 10:30 p.m.
The warning is in effect for Itasca, Cass, Crow Wing and northwestern Aitkin counties. It includes the cities of Grand Rapids and Brainerd.
At 7:24 p.m., weather spotters reported flash flooding from thunderstorms in the Grand Rapids and Coleraine areas. The National Weather Service received a report of water covering parts of Highway 169 near Coleraine.
Rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches an hour are possible as storms move across the warning area.
