The Greenwood Fire is now 54% contained and the Lake County Sheriff's Office has reopened the upper part of Lake County Highway 2, between Minnesota Highway 1 and Forest Highway 11, to all traffic.

"Be alert for firefighters and fire equipment in the area and observe posted speed limits," a news release from the responding agencies said.

The fire has grown nearly 700 acres since the last update to 26,797 acres, or nearly 42 square miles. About 390 people were responding to the fire Friday.

Highway 1 is still closed to nonresidents between New Tomahawk Road and Lankinen Road.
