Containment of the Greenwood Fire has grown from 37% to 49% as of Tuesday.

The size of the fire has grown very slightly for the first time since Friday, by about 20 acres to 26,112 acres, or nearly 41 square miles. About 350 people were responding to the fire Tuesday, according to the latest news release from the agencies responding to the fire.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office lifted the evacuation for homeowners with residences along Minnesota Highway 1, between Lankinen Road and the Lake County Highway 2 junction, on Monday. Only residents with passes are able to travel through that area.

Seasonal cabin owners in the restricted area along Highway 1 will be able to access their cabins Wednesday morning after picking up their passes. Homes and cabins along McDougal Lake Road are still under evacuation.
