The Duluth Fire Department responded to the scene of a house fire and report of an explosion in the Denfeld neighborhood Monday evening.
Multiple fire department crews responded to the fire in a single family home at 4626 W. Seventh St. shortly before 9 p.m. There were no injuries reported at the fire, according to public information officer Kate Van Daele.
Crews arrived to find a propane grill cylinder had exploded and resulted in a fire, according to a news release from the fire department. The fire entered the attic through the eaves. It was located and quickly extinguished after crews determined all occupants were safe and out of the house.
Damage to the home is estimated to be $30,000 and was limited to the upstairs, especially inside void spaces, the news release said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal's office.
