A 36-year-old man was treated on-scene for smoke inhalation during suppression of an attic fire Friday evening in the city of Rice Lake.
Vincent Carlson was at the home with Larry Miller, 57, and Virginia Miller, 52, at 5054 Howard Gnesen Road, when the fire was reported at 6:21 p.m.
"It was reported that there was a loud noise coming from the attic along with smoke," a St. Louis County Sheriff's Office report said late Friday.
There were no other injuries. The cause of the fire remains unknown and under investigation.
The Rice Lake, Lakewood, Fredenberg and Canosia fire departments responded to the scene, which was cleared around 9 p.m.
