A fire on Monday at Voyageur Park Lodge Resort destroyed the lodge.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reported it was called along with Kabetogama and Little Fork firefighters to the lodge at 10436 Waltz Road in Kabetogama Township at 5 p.m. The lodge was a loss.

No one was at the lodge at the time of the fire, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The lodge was described as a two-story building on the Friends of Northland FireWire's Facebook page.

Voyageur Park Lodge Resort is separate from Voyageurs National Park. It's located on a peninsula in Kabetogama Lake on the U.S.-Canadian border, according to its web page. It has 11 cabins on the 16-acre peninsula.

A man who answered the lodge's phone on Monday evening declined to comment.

The fire is being investigated by the Sheriff's Office and the Fire Marshal's Office, according to the Sheriff's Office.
