No one was injured in a blaze at a Rice Lake home Saturday evening.
Deputies responded around 5:40 p.m. to a report of a house fire at 4518 Martin Road in Rice Lake after passersby noticed smoke coming from the home, according to a news release by the St. Louis County Sheriff's office.
It was later determined the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The sheriff's office reported that Rice Lake Fire Department "quickly knocked the fire down, which was mainly contained to the kitchen area of the home."
Lakewood, Canosia, Grand Lake and Air National Guard fire departments also responded, according to the sheriff's office. The Red Cross also arrived on scene to provide assistance to the occupants.
The incident remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office and the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
