A fire destroyed a home in Britt on Friday morning, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
A passer-by noticed the residence of Jamie Heglund engulfed in flames about 9 a.m. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
The Pike-Sandy-Britt Fire Department began fighting the fire soon after, but the home appeared to be a total loss. Britt is about 13 miles north of Virginia.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
