Fire caused extensive damage to a home at 1712 East Fifth St. early Sunday morning.
The Duluth Fire Department said they were called to the scene at 3:36 a.m. and found heavy fire on the exterior of the house extending to the second floor.
All five people living in the home escaped without injury, saying they were awakened by a smoke alarm. The residents currently are staying with friends. Crews were on the scene for nearly two hours.
The Duluth Fire Marshal's office is investigating the blaze which is estimated to have caused $60,000 damage.
