Fire causes 'extensive' damage to Sawyer cabin

A Saturday evening fire caused extensive damage to a seasonal cabin in Sawyer, according to a news release from the Carlton County Sheriff's Office.

Crews were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. after a neighbor noticed the fire. Firefighters who arrived first saw flames and smoke coming out of the cabin, the news release read.

The property owner confirmed with the Sheriff's Office that no one was home at the time of the fire.

The amount of damages isn't yet known, and officers are still investigating the incident, according to the release.
