A Duluth home suffered major damage after a fire Sunday night. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
Duluth Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire around 9:35 p.m. at 8 N. Lakewood Road. Arriving crews found heavy fire attacking the front of the home, a news release said.
The main body of the fire was quickly knocked down, but the fire spread to the walls and attic, making isolation difficult, a news release said.
Crews remained on scene into the early morning to ensure the fire remained extinguished. Damages to the building and contents are estimated to be $250,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office.
