The father of a Minnesota woman missing for a month and presumed dead is making a plea to community members to join the search for his daughter's body this weekend.
"It's very important to our family that we get as many people as possible to help us search," Jay Steger, father of Kira Trevino, said Thursday. "The more eyes the better."
Trevino, 30, of St. Paul, was last seen publicly Feb. 21 and her husband, Jeffery Trevino, reported her missing Feb. 24. Prosecutors charged Jeffery Trevino, 39, on Feb. 28 with two counts of second-degree murder, though Kira Trevino's body hasn't been found.
This will be the fourth weekend of volunteer searches. Two of five searches this weekend are planned for Keller Lake in Maplewood.
Police received a tip about the ice-covered lake, and volunteers searched there last weekend. They found an item, which was turned over to police, but police haven't said what it was.

On Tuesday, law enforcement searched at Keller Lake with cadaver dogs and divers. The dogs appeared to show interest in an area of the lake where a cadaver dog had previously alerted, police said, but the divers didn't turn up anything.
This weekend's searches are scheduled for:
Sunday, 2 p.m., Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge from 86th Street to Minnesota 77. Parking location hasn't been finalized, but should be updated at https://www.facebook.com/RapidSearchandRescue/events . Police are asking volunteers to stay off the ice, said Howie Padilla, St. Paul police spokesman.
"If searchers do find any evidence or if they do find Kira, leave everything intact, don't touch a thing, and call 911," he said.
Organizers ask searchers to sign in and out, carry cell phones, and wear bright colors and appropriate shoes. Information is also at the "Justice For Kira Steger Trevino" Facebook page.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the police tip line at (651) 560-3277.
