Fire crews responded to an apartment fire in Eveleth that left all of the building's residents displaced Wednesday night.
Eveleth Fire Department Chief Guy Spurlin said about 20 people lived at the Countryside Apartments, 300 15th Ave. No residents were injured but one firefighter was taken to the hospital with a strained back.
Crews responded to the fire call at approximately 6:45 p.m. Wednesday and finished putting the fire out around 9 p.m. Thirteen fire departments and 77 firefighters were on the scene.
Spurlin said a conservative estimate for the damage is $200,000. The Red Cross is helping to relocate the displaced residents.
The fire is still under investigation, though Spurlin said an accidental kitchen fire appears to have been the cause.
