Was anyone surprised that Karl Rove got a reprieve? ("Rove cleared in CIA leak case," June 14.)
In a newspaper dated Oct. 29, 2005, the Oregonian ran a cartoon showing a platform with two hanging nooses with Scooter's neck around one and Karl Rove saying, "The good news Scooter, is that I got a reprieve and you didn't. Oh well, work to be done. Can't hang around here all day."
Bush is hiding under the platform saying "Spinning is to be done, Karl. C'mon." The other side shows a head saying "Spinning, spinning slowly in the wind."
I predict before Bush leaves office, the Enron guys will get pardons along with Abramoff and the other congressmen who were found guilty.
