Thursday will be the College of St. Scholastica’s annual “Give to CSS Day” - a day devoted to encouraging donors to support the college marking its 102nd year in Duluth.
The day - March 5 - is chosen because it represents the date classes would have to end for the year if the school did not receive financial support from donors.
“March 5 represents the academic year being 71 percent complete. If we didn’t raise additional funds including private gifts and endowments, classes would potentially stop,” John Labosky, vice president for college advancement, said in a news release. “This day is not just about cultivating donors, it is also a wonderful time to celebrate what is great about our campus, our students and our alumni.”
There will be a 24-hour online fundraising drive on Thursday, with a goal of raising at least $102,000.
