Brenda Bonnema sends thanks to the two men who stopped to assist a dog that was hit by a car Tuesday evening on Rice Lake Road.

"That was my dog. I appreciate that you stopped to help my Shaggy when the driver who hit him didn't stop. I believe that your care and compassion kept him alive long enough so that my family could gather around him one more time."

Bonnema said Shaggy's injuries were bad enough that they had to put him down, but she appreciates the aid of the two strangers.

"I didn't even get your names and I don't remember if I thanked you, so 'Thank you' from the bottom of my heart."
