Procrastinate now for the food shelf
Need to get to the grocery store? Put it off till Saturday, when you can help restock area food shelves while you're at it.
Pick up a list of items at local grocery stores between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, purchase a few and then leave them with volunteers.
"Go home knowing you helped a neighbor," says Meg Kearns of Churches United in Ministry.
The drive is sponsored by CHUM and Boy Scouts of America. Foods most needed include canned meals such as stews, chili and SpaghettiOs, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter and canned fruit, soup and tuna. And then there's the Eh? column favorite, made in Minnesota: Spam.
