Cinch up your lederhosen: The 39th annual Grandma’s Oktoberfest kicks off with a parade through downtown starting at 11:30 a.m. today. Expect lively polka music and beer coupons on Superior Street.
Fox 21 news anchor Dan Hanger is the grand marshal for the event.
The first keg of the Oktoberfest season will be tapped afterward on the upstairs patio at Grandma’s Saloon & Grill in Canal Park. There will be German food - get your Schweinschnitzel - polka contests and a stein holding competition. And starting Wednesday, the restaurant will bring out a whole bunch of specialty brews.
