Parents of Esko Schools students received an alert from the district Tuesday afternoon of one person in the high school testing positive for COVID-19.
In an email shared with the News Tribune by a parent, families were informed that close contacts determined by the local health department and school staff will be excluded from school for two weeks from their last date of exposure and will be monitored for symptoms. Students and staff who interacted closely with the individual will be contacted by the local health department via email.
The district will also be cleaning and disinfecting the school to control the spread of the illness, according to the email.
Superintendent Aaron Fischer confirmed the email was sent, but declined to comment further.
