The Duluth School Board announced Tuesday, March 17, it would not allow the public to attend its meeting that night.
The decision was made after Mayor Emily Larson declared a local emergency by signing a declaration. Board Chair Jill Lofald said the decision was made for Tuesday night's meeting only and the board will discuss options going forward.
The public can watch the meeting live on YouTube or on Charter cable station 187. Public comments can be submitted to email@example.com.
The School Board approved a motion 5-1, with board member Alanna Oswald opposed, not to live-stream or record any interviews for the superintendent position that are set for Thursday at 4 p.m. and Friday at 8 a.m. The board is also expected to have a discussion regarding possibly reversing that decision during the meeting Tuesday night.
