One of the finalists for the Hermantown Community Schools superintendent is also a superintendent finalist at another Minnesota school district.

Donita Stepan, principal at Malone Intermediate School in Prescott, Wis., was selected Saturday to be a finalist for the open Hermantown superintendent position. She is expected to participate in the second round of interviews Thursday in Hermantown, along with two others.

Also Saturday, Stepan interviewed for a superintendent job in the Detroit Lakes School District and was picked as a finalist along with two others. She is expected to participate in the second round of interviews Wednesday in Detroit Lakes.

Detroit Lakes Superintendent Doug Froke announced last year that he will be leaving his position at the end of this school year. His last day on the job is June 30.

Current Hermantown Superintendent Kerry Juntunen announced his retirement in October. His last day is June 30.
