Lake Superior College will accept scholarship applications starting Feb. 10, with more than $100,000 expected to be awarded this spring for the fall 2020 semester.

Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $2,500, and any student who plans to attend LSC next fall is eligible to apply, though some scholarships have additional requirements.

The Lake Superior College Foundation also will offer several $2,000 scholarships for graduating high school seniors in the region who plan to attend LSC in the fall, as well as 13 St. Louis County Mineral Royalties Scholarships of $2,500 each. The mineral royalties awards are open to county residents who have graduated or soon will graduate from any county high school and plan to pursue a high-demand career track at LSC.

In addition, there will be new scholarships this year for programs in firefighting, health care, integrated manufacturing and liberal arts.

The application period closes Feb. 28. A scholarship review committee will review applications during the week of March 2, and the final list of recommended recipients will be presented to the Lake Superior College Foundation's board of directors the week of March 9. Recipients will be notified in mid-March.
