A preliminary job posting for the Duluth Public Schools superintendent job has an application deadline set in February.

The job posting has been listed on multiple online sources such as the BWP & Associates, the district's consultant's website, and the American Association of School Administrators. The Duluth School Board was expected to set a schedule and timeline for the superintendent search during a Dec. 16 meeting but was unable to after more than three hours of discussion.

The job posting lists Feb. 14 as the application deadline, giving the public its first glimpse at a timeline for the search.

Applicants must complete an online data form and include a letter of application indicating qualifications and reasons for interest in the position, a current resume, a brief description of major professional accomplishments, college transcripts, four to six letters of recommendation and evidence of eligibility to serve as a superintendent in Minnesota.

Current superintendent Bill Gronseth's contract with the school district ends June 30. He announced his resignation in March last year. The new superintendent is expected to start July 1.
