With strong demand in the Twin Ports for machinists, welders and computer-assisted designers in engineering, Lake Superior College will host a Manufacturing Career Night from 4:30-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the school's downtown campus, 120 N. Second Ave. W.

The event will offer attendees the chance to learn about and interact with high-tech equipment including 3D printers and scanners, robotic welders, waterjet and plasma cutters, computer-assisted design software and more, according to a news release.

Faculty and current students will give tours of the machining, welding and CAD lab facilities. Academic advisers and staff will be present to answer questions about admissions, financial aid and scholarships, credit transfers and more. Regional employers and alumni also will be on hand to discuss future career opportunities.
