Dr. Sheryl Sandahl is the new dean of the College of St. Scholastica's School of Nursing.

Sandahl, who assumed the post July 1, previously had served as the nursing school's interim dean since July 2018. She has been a member of the St. Scholastica faculty for 17 years.

Sandahl has significant teaching experience in online, classroom lab and clinical environments in undergraduate and graduate nursing studies, according to a St. Scholastica news release. Her interests include curriculum development and assessment, simulation, collaborative testing and role development in nursing, the release said.

A board-certified family nurse practitioner, Sandahl has a bachelor's degree in nursing from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.; a master of public health degree from the University of Minnesota; and a master's degree in nursing and doctor of nursing practice degree from Case Western Reserve University.
