Early birds catch the worm

Early birds catch the worm, as they say, but in this case, Cory Netland and Rick Dalen, students at UMD, caught a beautiful Lake Superior sunrise Thursday morning while looking to catch a couple of predawn salmon. Facts about this fall's salmon run have been spotty at best, but the region saw above average temperatures through the end of the week, so there's no good reason not to give it a try.
