It's no secret that Duluth's Glensheen Mansion has been a big draw for tourists and locals alike. But now the Duluth landmark has a statewide award recognizing its efforts.

Glensheen was honored as the "Attraction of the Year" during the 2017 Explore Minnesota Tourism Conference held earlier this week in St. Paul.

And Glensheen wasn't the only Northland winner at the conference. The Lutsen 99er mountain bike race won top honors in the "Event of the Year" category, while the Lake Superior Storm Festival in Cook County won an award of merit.

And Linda Jurek, executive director of Visit Cook County, was named a "Rising Star" for her efforts in promoting the area to visitors.

The annual tourism conference drew more than 350 attendees from around the state.
