A structure fire in Duluth's Endion neighborhood displaced four residents early Friday morning. No one was injured.
The Duluth Fire Department responded to the fire at 1801 E. Second St. around 12:30 a.m. All residents exited the building before fire crews arrived, according to a news release from the fire department.
When crews arrived, heavy smoke was visible from the second and third floors of the three-story apartment building. Crews encountered heavy fire and no visibility on the second floor and into the third floor. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire on both floors and went on to knock out the fire that had extended into wall and floor spaces, the release said.
Crews were on the scene for about three hours. An initial estimate of the damage is $35,000. The Duluth Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire.
