Duluth reached a record high on Friday, the second record set this week in the city.
The Duluth airport hit 58 degrees on Friday, beating the previous record for March 13 of 57 degrees, set in 2007. The airport also set a daily record with a 58-degree high on Tuesday.
Other high temperatures from around the Northland on Friday included 62 at Ashland, 61 at Hayward and 57 at Moose Lake.
Grand Marais topped out at a comparatively chilly 39 degrees thanks to the effect of Lake Superior, while International Falls - which still had 6 inches of snow on the ground as of Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service - reached a high of just 40 with some rain showers during the day.
The average high for this time of year in Duluth is about 33 degrees; the average low is 16.

Expect highs near 50 on Saturday in the Twin Ports under partly sunny skies. There's little chance another record will be set Saturday in Duluth; the record high for March 14 is a balmy 68 degrees, set during the memorably warm March of 2012.
