The Duluth School Board late Tuesday night approved a 5.9 percent increase to its levy, bringing the amount to $24.6 million.
An owner of a home worth $100,000 will see a property tax increase of about $9. Last year's increase was 3.5 percent.
The board also approved a contract with the Duluth Principals' Association, giving the 23 members a 1.5 percent increase for the first year of the 2009-11 contract that they are currently in, and 1 percent for the second year of that and each year of the 2011-13 contract.
